Acne, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, and scars on your skin can age you and negatively affect your self-confidence. Luckily, there are ways to address these imperfections without surgery or harsh chemicals.

Sciton® has created several devices to address skin concerns without the need for incisions, surgery, or extended recovery times. Forever Clear™ and Halo™ are two of the technologies offered here at The Medical Skin Clinic to help give you the clear, bright complexion you want.

Forever Clear BBL™

Forever Clear BBL™ uses light energy to treat acne safely and without medications or lasting side effects. First, the device delivers blue light to the skin, killing bacteria that can cause acne. Your skin will then be exposed to yellow light to help reduce redness and inflammation. Once the Forever Clear BBL™ portion of your treatment is complete, the SkinTyte™ device will be used to help smooth and firm the skin using infrared light. The combination of these processes can give you clearer, brighter skin in just a few treatment sessions.

Halo™

Halo™ laser resurfacing can be used to treat signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines, and pigmented lesions, as well as other skin imperfections. The Halo™ system emits both ablative and non-ablative light wavelengths, meaning that treatment plans can be customized to the patient’s specific concerns.

Ablative lasers remove the outer, damaged layer of skin from the treatment site, which also stimulates the body’s healing processes. Non-ablative lasers heat the underlying layers of the skin to promote collagen production and tissue coagulation. A topical anesthetic is applied before treatment for your comfort, and you will feel a warm sensation during your session.

Some swelling and irritation (similar to a sunburn) will occur afterward, but the downtime will be far shorter than if you had undergone surgery. Over-the-counter pain relievers may be used to relieve any discomfort.

How Long Until I See My Results?

Non-surgical, light-based therapies are ideally suited to facial skin concerns because of the short downtime involved. However, both of the treatments described above will require multiple treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. Halo™ resurfacing can have dramatic effects in as little as two sessions, but a higher number of milder treatments may also be recommended for certain skin conditions, such as melasma. Forever Clear BBL™ will also need repeated sessions. A treatment plan will be created for you during your consultation to make sure that you achieve the best outcome possible.
